Congrats to Aayden Miller of Iroquois West on being named the First Trust & Savings Bank of Watseka & Clifton Player of the Week! ICYMI: The sophomore helped lead his team to a 21-20 Week 1 Vermilion Valley Conference victory over Hoopeston which snapped an 11-game losing streak dating back to the 2023 season. The boys and girls golf teams participated in a three school match with Milford and Donovan at Shewami Country Club on 8/28. The IW boys took first place with a team score of 173. Milford took second with a 206 and Donovan was third with 253. Brody Mueller and Bryce Rogers shared medalist honors with a score of 41. Other scores for IW were Ashton Ehmen 45, Bruno Haase 46, Anthony Trumpower 53, and Malachi Ark 55.
The IW girls had a team score of 216. Milford and Donovan did not have enough players for a team score. Kaia Kimmel earned medalist honors with a 42. Other scores for IW girls were Karsyn Arie 57, Aubrey Chandler 58, Paige Miller 59, Ella Lunt 59, and Alivia Albrecht 68.
