The IW Entrepreneurship students would like to thank the MANY people who generously donated food, prizes, money, and time to support IWHS Senior, Kairi Rossi, on her road to recovery from an automobile accident.
Kairi and her family attended the Entrepreneurs' Kare for Kairi bingo benefit on Wednesday night with approximately 150 others—including students, IW Staff, church groups, community members, and true bingo lovers.
Special thanks to donors Gary and Cathy Perzee for the delicious pulled pork, Monicals for 15 pizzas, Lucy's Kitchen for 4 dozen cookies, Nora Mann and the Art Club for creating adorable props for the photo booth, the FCCLA members who provided extra manpower, Jennifer Nitsche for use of her classroom kitchen items, IWHS Principal Giles for her tech support and encouragement, Sydney Yoder for picking up the pizzas and sandwiches, and Abby Redenius and Eileen Meyer for donating back their 50/50 winnings!
The evening provided more than $2,000 for Kairi’s medical bills and care. ❤️

There was an overwhelming amount of donations that were received this week at GES for the “Wes Express” Friday Incentive which was started by 2nd grade special education teacher, Karey Tammen!
The donations towards this snack cart are used as part of a structured activity where self-contained students visit the GES staff door-to-door to "sell" these items. During the interaction, students collect pretend money in exchange for the items. This activity is designed to help practice socialization skills (greeting, conversation, turn-taking, waiting ) and transitions (moving between classrooms/locations) while engaging in a fun, motivating exchange.

Kendra Monk and Renee Krolik were guest speakers for the child development class. They told us about their pregnancy experiences and offered us great advice. The students got to hear about how different pregnancies can be and even though you plan, be prepared to go off plan! Thank you to both ladies for allowing us to hear about your amazing baby experiences!
